As you may all be aware our company has recently been facing numerous accusations and allegations by Mr. Connor O’Dwyer. Mr. Connor O’Dwyer is a former customer of our company who has created a site on the internet, whereby defaming our company and namely that it misled and tricked him into purchasing a property.
In the said site Mr. O’Dwyer was attempting by showing building plans and tape conversations that he had been misled and tricked. However, he failed to refer to some very important details because they reflect the other side of the story and cover his mastermind of a well set extortion plan.
It all began when the brick-laying stage of the house was finished and the corresponding amount became due under the contract. Following our common practice we had sent him as well as his lawyer a certification from our civil engineers together with a letter demanding payment. Despite all the reminders that were sent in regular intervals payment for that amount was never received. As a measure of last resort we had to cancel the contract. It is worth noting that exactly the same procedure was followed when the main work was finished and payment was duly made by Mr. O’Dwyer.
After the cancellation of the contract Mr. O’Dwyer set his plan in motion seeking for his revenge. A revenge originating from the fact that the value of the house he would have bought increased due to the current value housing boom. He set a meeting with Mr. Marios Karayiannas, our managing director, and when he attended that meeting he was secretly taping their conversation. It was at this point that he first raised the issue of privacy.
After this, some time passed but then Mr. O’Dwyer seeked a second meeting with Mr. Karayiannas, At this meeting he informed Mr. Karayiannas that he had secretly taped their previous conversation and that unless the company gave him a private villa worth £400,000 and £100,000 in cash he would create a site in the internet defaming the company in such ways as to cause it great financial losses. He was in plain and simple words blackmailing his way into a luxury villa and cash in hand.
Mr. Karayiannas as Managing Director of the company refused categorically the demands made by Mr. O’Dwyer and failed to adhere to his blackmail requests. Mr. O’Dwyer produced videos tapings using micro cameras from our building sites scaring all potential new clients.
As a result of the above mentioned, our company has proceeded with all the necessary legal procedures to prevent Mr. O’Dwyer from completing his plan and reassures that it will continue offering services at the same high standards and with the same high professionalism that out customers have now become accustomed to.
